Staying Busy

The spring crossover.  What a time if you’re a UMBC fan.  Eight different teams are in action all across the country for your viewing pleasure.

Up in Boston, the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have already hit the water for the prelims session on Day Three of the America East Championships.  In the 400 IM, Jennifer Kotonias and Tara Morrissette qualified for tonight’s championship final.  For the men, John Mendenhall will be looking to pick up key points for the Retrievers.

In Baltimore, the women’s basketball team will be celebrating the careers of three of the most decorated individuals in program history.  Seniors Erin Brown, Michelle Kurowski and Tope Obajolu will all play in their final game at the RAC as the Retrievers host Vermont in the team’s regular season finale.

Meanwhile, the men finish up their season with a trip to Burlington, Vt. to take on the Catamounts.  Both the men and women are set to tip-off at 1 p.m.

In spring action, baseball continues play at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston Salem, N.C.  After dropping two games on opening day, the Retrievers take on Georgetown at 12 p.m.

A little further south, softball finishes up the Charleston Southern Tournament with two games in Charleston, S.C.

The women’s lacrosse team, as well as the men’s tennis team are also on the road, facing George Mason and Richmond, respectively.
