And We’re Back

Day Two of the America East Championships is set to start in just five minutes here at the Boston University Aquatics Center, and what and atmosphere we have.  It’s just prelims this morning, but the stands are packed and there is a nice sized pocket of Black and Gold up there.

The tension is in air, but that’s what happens after three DQ’s on the men’s side and the Retrievers and Terriers splitting the relays for the women.  After Day One, UMBC leads the men’s standings with 111 pts.  Stony Brook sits in 2nd with 79 pts. and Maine is 3rd with71 pts.  In the women’s standings, UMBC and Boston U. sit atop the standings tied with 74 pts.

The men can thank their divers for providing the cushion after the opening day.  Junior Andrew Eckhoff and freshman Pak Lam Wong went one-two for the Retrievers in the 1-meter competition, earning the first medals of the championships.
