Retriever Alumni Update – Dec. 3, 2009 – Housman Continues Hot Shooting in Japan

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday. Our three international basketball alums have all been in action on this edition of the alumni update.

Professional Basketball

In Denmark, former Retriever Darryl Proctor led the Bakken Bears to the semi-finals of the Danish Cup with a 91-73 win over ÅBYHØJ on Nov. 23. DP had 13 points, eight rebounds and had four steals as the Bears will move on to face FOG Næstved in the semis.

Down in Slovenia, former Dawg Andrew Feeley and Elektra Esotech fell to TCG Mercator, 72-68, on Saturday. Feeley scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds. Feeley is still third in the league, averaging 8.57 boards per game.

Over in Japan, Mike Housman and Toyota Tsusho have won their eighth straight game to open the season, defeating Tokyo Big Blue on Sunday, 100-53. Housman tallied a double-double in just 18 minutes, scoring 10 while grabbing 11 rebounds. He leads the JBL2 in rebounds with 11.25 per game and shooting percentage at 62.5%, while he is sixth in scoring with 16 points per game.

As always, if you know of any former Retrievers playing in professional or semi-professional leagues around the world, please email and we’ll start tracking them. Thanks for reading.
