Retriever Alumni Update – October 15, 2009

This week in the Retriever Alumni Update, a former UMBC basketball star continues his hot start in Denmark, while another lands a deal in Slovenia.

Professional Basketball

Former Dawg Darryl Proctor and the Bakken Bears suffered their first loss of the season to SISU CPH, 76-69, last Thursday night. Proctor led the Bears again in scoring with 20 points, while adding four rebounds and four steals. He was named the Bears’ MVP for the game. The Bears next take on BK Amager on Oct. 17.

In other news, Andrew Feeley, another former basketball star, signed a deal with Elektra Esotech of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League on Tuesday. The league just started their season, with Elektra standing at 0-1. We’ll keep you updated when Feeley begins play for them.

One more note, Mike Housman, who is over in Japan with the Toyota Tsusho team, the former club of Feeley, begins the season this weekend when they face Toyota Big Blue on Sunday, so we’ll have an update on him next week.

As always, if you know of any former Retrievers playing in professional or semi-professional leagues around the world, please email and we’ll start tracking them. Thanks for reading.
